As the most dominant junior driver in North America karting to date in 2022, Caleb Gafrarar is set to start another series of competition this weekend. Traveling from his home in North Carolina to New Orleans, Louisiana, the Rolison Performance Group (RPG) driver will attack the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour at the NOLA Motorsports Park for the annual WinterNationals event.
“I can’t wait to get going this weekend at NOLA,” explained Gafrarar. “It is a track that really suits my driving style, and I think we have another chance to have a very good weekend. With the success in the first quarter of the year, anything less than a couple of wins would be a disappointment.”
With race wins at the Florida Winter Tour, United States Pro Kart Series, and SKUSA Winter Series in 2022, Gafrarar is looking to add the SKUSA Pro Tour to his list of season accomplishments. In the three event, six race series, Gafrarar will see action in both X30 Junior and KA100 Junior doubling up his podium chances.
Going two-for-two on race wins at last weekend’s Texas Sprint Racing Series event at NOLA, Gafrarar added, “We had a successful test event in which we used valuable track time to test and tune for the WinterNationals. I am confident in what we have found and know that we will continue to work hard as a team to make sure we have success.”
With the SKUSA Pro Tour weekend kicking off on Thursday for practice, Gafrarar, the most recent eKartingNews.com Driver of the Month, and the rest of the competitors, will enjoy a second day of testing on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will feature a pair of race days with a warmup, qualifying, prefinal and main events. With round one taking the green flag on Saturday, round two of the six race program will take place Sunday.
