Caleb Gafrarar Earns First Car Race Win in Skip Barber Sweep at Sebring

The first time is always a special one and it was Caleb Gafrarar’s first time climbing to the top step of a car racing podium yesterday. Earning one pole position and an event sweep in wheel-to-wheel competition, Gafrarar was the man to beat Tuesday and Wednesday at the bumpy Sebring International Raceway.

“It’s always special to get your first win and this has been on the radar for quite some time,” expressed an elated Gafrarar after scoring his first victory on Wednesday morning. “To come back and double up on the total of career wins in a single day is awesome, and I am already looking forward to the next one.”

Drawing car #16 on Monday, Gafrarar entered his sixth car event full of energy and excitement. Ready to battle hard, the speed was apparent from the very first practice session and led into qualifying. Earning the pole position for race one, Gafrarar doubled up his front-row starting positions in the second qualifying session of the event clocking the second fastest lap for race two. With a night to sleep and think about what could be, Caleb Gafrarar turned into a race winner on Wednesday.

“I was able to get to the front in race one courtesy of my pole position and keep the rest of the field behind me,” explained Gafrarar. “It was not easy, but I think I have learned from past experiences and put the knowledge to good use. To climb atop the top step of the podium for the first time is an incredible feeling and one I will never forget.”

Returning to the track later that morning, Gafrarar was able to double up on the race wins and sweep the race action. Racing hard to get by the current point leader, Gafrarar was able to again work his way to the point, defend when needed, and drive to another checkered flag.

On track six of the last seven days competing in both karts and cars, Gafrarar is looking forward to the future.

Caleb Gafrarar would like to thank Skip Barber Racing Series, Circle K, Bell Helmets, Molecule, Minus 273, ULV, From the Ashes, and CPI Security for the continued support as he continues the 2023 racing season.
